Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before starting personal training at Limitless Strength & Fitness in Baulkham Hills.

Is personal training suitable for beginners?

Yes. You don't need to be fit, strong or experienced before starting personal training.

Your training is tailored to your current ability, experience and goals. We'll teach you correct exercise technique, help you understand your program and progressively build your strength and confidence as you improve.

You don't need to know what you're doing before you arrive — that's what we're here for.

How many personal training sessions should I do each week?

This depends on your goals, experience, schedule and how much additional training you complete independently.

For many people, 2–3 structured strength-training sessions per week can provide a practical foundation, but your individual program should be based on your needs and recovery.

Current Australian physical activity guidelines recommend adults perform muscle-strengthening activities on at least two days each week.

What happens during my first personal training session?

We start by understanding you rather than putting you straight into a generic workout.

We'll discuss your goals, previous training experience, lifestyle, current ability and anything else relevant to planning your training.

From there, we can establish an appropriate starting point and build a personalised training approach around what you want to achieve.

Is the Limitless gym private?

Yes.

Limitless Strength & Fitness is a private personal training studio in Baulkham Hills rather than a busy commercial gym.

This means you can focus on your coaching and training without having to navigate a crowded gym floor or work out what to do on your own.

Do I need a gym membership to train at Limitless?

No. You don't need to purchase a separate commercial gym membership to attend your personal training sessions at Limitless.

Our Baulkham Hills facility is designed specifically for coached personal training.

Can personal training help me lose body fat?

Personal training can support fat-loss goals by helping you build a structured resistance-training routine, improve consistency and progressively develop your fitness and strength.

However, body-fat reduction isn't determined by training alone. Nutrition, overall activity, sleep, recovery and consistency also matter.

That's why we take a broader approach rather than promising that one particular workout will make you lose weight.

Can I build muscle and lose body fat at the same time?

In some circumstances, yes. This is commonly referred to as body recomposition.

The goal is to improve the ratio of lean mass to body fat through appropriately programmed resistance training, progressive overload, nutrition and recovery.

Your individual results will depend on factors including your starting point, training history, nutrition and consistency.

At Limitless, we offer dedicated body recomposition coaching in Baulkham Hills for clients who want to become stronger and develop a leaner, more muscular physique.

What's the difference between weight loss and body recomposition?

Weight loss focuses primarily on reducing your overall body weight.

Body recomposition focuses more specifically on changing your body composition — generally reducing body fat while developing or maintaining lean muscle.

That's why the number on the scales isn't always the best way to measure progress.

Depending on your goal, we may also look at improvements in strength, measurements, photos, training performance and how your body composition changes over time.

Do you provide nutrition coaching and meal plans?

Yes.

Nutrition coaching is available alongside training for clients who want additional support with their nutrition.

Rather than relying on extreme diets, our approach is designed to complement your training while taking your goals, food preferences and lifestyle into consideration.

We also offer dedicated nutrition coaching and personalised meal-planning services.

Do you offer women's personal training?

Yes.

Our women's personal training focuses on strength development, muscle building, body recomposition and improving confidence in the gym.

Training is personalised to your experience and goals rather than based on generic "women's workouts."

Whether you're completely new to strength training or already experienced, we'll build your program around where you are now and where you want to go.

Do you offer men's personal training?

Yes.

Our men's personal training can be tailored towards goals including strength development, muscle building, body recomposition, improved fitness and long-term physical performance.

Your program is structured around your individual goals and experience rather than following a one-size-fits-all workout.

I'm over 35. Is it too late to start strength training?

No.

Strength training can remain valuable throughout adulthood.

Current Australian movement guidelines recommend adults perform muscle-strengthening activities on at least two days each week. They also recommend regular activities targeting mobility, balance and coordination.

If you're returning to exercise after a long break, the important thing is starting at an appropriate level and progressing gradually rather than trying to train like you did years ago.

Do you offer personal training for people over 40 or 50?

Yes.

Your age doesn't determine a single type of workout. Your current ability, training history, goals, recovery and individual circumstances are more useful when designing your program.

We can adjust exercise selection, training volume, intensity and progression to suit you while still giving you a structured strength-training program.

What if I have an injury or medical condition?

Tell us about any injuries, pain, medical conditions or relevant health concerns before you begin.

Depending on your circumstances, your training may need to be modified or we may recommend obtaining clearance or guidance from an appropriate healthcare professional before commencing.

A personal trainer doesn't replace medical diagnosis, physiotherapy or other healthcare.

Will I be doing random workouts every session?

No.

This is one of the key differences in the way we coach.

Your training follows a structured program designed around your goals. Exercises, training volume, intensity and progression are planned so that your training can develop over time.

We don't believe constantly changing workouts simply to make every session feel different is the best way to approach strength and muscle development.

What is progressive overload?

Progressive overload means gradually increasing the training demands placed on your body as you adapt.

That doesn't simply mean adding more weight every session.

Progression can involve changes to load, repetitions, sets, exercise difficulty, technique, range of motion or other programming variables.

We use planned progression so your training has a purpose beyond simply completing a workout.

How long will it take before I see results?

There isn't one honest timeframe that applies to everyone.

Progress depends on your starting point, goal, training frequency, nutrition, recovery, previous experience and consistency.

You may notice improvements in exercise technique, confidence and strength before substantial visual changes occur.

Our focus is on creating measurable, sustainable progress rather than promising a specific transformation within an unrealistic timeframe.

Do I have to follow a strict diet to get results?

No.

Your nutrition needs to support your goal, but that doesn't automatically mean following an extremely restrictive diet.

For most people, an approach they can consistently follow is more useful than repeatedly starting and stopping aggressive diets.

Where nutrition coaching is included, we'll work with your goals, preferences and lifestyle to create a practical approach.
